Many people have contacted me requesting the PowerPoint presentations that were used at the Building Capacity for Trauma-Informed Care regional seminars.

Thanks to the National Center for Trauma-Informed Care (NCTIC), all of these presentations are available free for download on their site.

About the Seminars

TALLAHASSEE TIC SEMINAR ATTENDEES: Please note that registration starts at 8 am. Also, please download the map of Tallahassee Community College campus and the campus map with the Fine and Performing Arts Center labeled on it to assist you in finding the seminar location.

NOTE: The seminars at all six locations are full. Registrations for all seminars are no longer being accepted.

The Department of Children and Families Mental Health Offce is proud to be hosting Building Capacity for Trauma-Informed Systems of Care, a series of six free regional seminars throughout the state.

Trauma-informed programs and services represent the new generation of transformed mental health and allied human services organizations and programs that serve people with histories of violence and trauma.

Featured Speaker: Tonier Cain, trauma survivor, consumer advocate, and team leader for the National Center for Trauma Informed Care (NCTIC)

Each seminar is two days. You can attend either or both days. The seminars are FREE.

All seminars are two days long. You can attend either day or both days. Registration begins at 8 am each day. Day One sessions run from 9 am to 5 pm. Day Two sessions run from 9 am to 12 noon.

Travel Reimbursement Information

Attendees who live 50+ miles from training site will be eligible for travel reimbursement. Rental vehicles can be arranged through Avis. The request for reimbursement of travel expenses must be made on the approved Form DFS-AA-15. The travel voucher must be signed and dated by the traveler. Forms will be made available upon request of traveler.

Travel funds are limited and therefore may not be available for all eligible attendees. Criteria that will be used to determine who will be prioritized for travel reimbursement are mental health provider leadership and consumer and family members, otherwise first-come first- served.

Deadline for requesting travel funding is four (4) weeks before training date and registrants will be notified a minimum of three (3) weeks before if funding is available.

A block of rooms will be made available for attendees that need to stay the night. Travelers need to secure their own room at the specified hotel and will receive the rate that we have arranged. There are a limited number of rooms blocked so reservations should be made as soon as possible.

Reimbursement for meals will be as follows:

Reimbursement for travel will be made within 30-45 days of event and receipt of travel reimbursement form that is filled out properly.
